The Greater Española Valley Community Development Corporation (GEVCDC) was founded in 2000 by a group of individuals representing private businesses, public governmental and other community organizations for the purpose of furthering the quality of life in Rio Arriba County and the Española Valley.

The GEVCDC is a non-profit corporation and lead economic development organization in the region. Its mission is to promote a high quality of life for all community members; a sustainable and diversified economy; a quality educational system with a broad range of training opportunities; strong family units and family values; and a respect for the diverse cultures of the region.

The GEVCDC is the lead economic development corporation for Rio Arriba County and the City of Espaņola.

Help for Rio Arriba Small Businesses

The Greater Española Valley Community Development Corporation (GEVCDC) has staff member Robert A. Naranjo as its business network facilitator. He is tasked with assisting entrepreneurs and small businesses by assessing their needs and connecting them to support organizations such as Northern NM College's Small Business Development Center (SBDC), micro-lenders who specialize in loans to small businesses, and other small business support organizations.
